  Schools should ban junk food

Fast food, junk food, processed food. All have taken a permanent place in our lives. They are tasty hassle free and some of the best anytime snacks that any one can have easily and quickly. No wonder they are so popular. But it is the job of a child parents that they should provide their children a balanced diet in their lunch boxes. Junk food is present every where in the society but it remains a bone of contention whether it should be allow in schools or it should be banned in schools.

Children of today’s generation are a bit more obsessed towards junk food/fast food than of previous generations. And if they get a chance to eat, they eat without any hesitation, without even knowing the cons of it. The biggest reason of this is that now day’s life is become really very fast and people especially mother’s who are the whole sole responsible for the nourishment of a child in our kind of society and culture are always complaining of shortage of time. It is because our routines and daily work has increased a lot and new technologies and advanced appliances have made us clumsy. Kids who regularly indulge in junk food may be at high risk of health complications like obesity and depression. America is facing a crisis because of their eating habits. Sixty million adults (20% of population) are obese. Junk food is food that is high in calorie and less in nutrients. I believe that poor eating habits should not be another habit that a child should adopt from school. It is the school job that they should teach good eating habits in classrooms. Some schools do not serve dessert and junk food in their lunch times and like it but it should follow by each and every school, which is not that easy to do. Children need to start their day with a healthy meal not with junk food. Eating lots of sugary food makes children less able to pay attention in class or performing well in exams or tests.

Now one can draw his own conclusion whether junk food should be allowed in schools or banned. But more than that it is important that parents should provide their kids with healthy and balanced diet and tell them the disadvantages of consuming high doses of junk food because it is a child’s ideal meal and mother’s night mare..
